FAQ
Christmas Delivery
What is the last shipping date for UK orders?
First class post is currently taking up to a week to arrive so we would recommend ordering by Tuesday 15th December. Second class post is taking longer so only select this at the checkout if you're not in a rush.
What is the last shipping date for orders outside of the UK?
For international postage to Europe, Australia, the US and other countries outside of the UK, shipping is generally taking 2-4 weeks due to the volume of post in the system and delays due to COVID19, with some parcels taking longer. It's impossible to predict how long shipping may take with so many variables in each country and we would advise that you check the tracking information provided with your order for any updates from the courier company. You can also check for country specific information via Royal Mail's website.
What are your closure days over Christmas?
We will be taking a break between Saturday 19th - Sunday 27th December. Any orders placed over this period will be held until we're back from our holiday and posted when we return. Orders will be posted in late December or early January and will be prioritised based on the date the order was placed. We will be a little slow to answer messages and emails over this period as we aim to take a proper break from the business, we will respond to you as soon as we can though.
General
What is a giclée art print and what does this mean for the quality?
“Giclée” refers to a high standard of printing where the art prints are produced using pigment based inks and archival, cotton rag paper. Prints of this high quality will typically last for at least 25 years without fading or yellowing. Due to the cotton rag nature of the paper it is not unusual to see small white dots on the prints. The white dots are usually only noticeable on very close inspection, and are generally not noticeable when framed behind glass and hung. The colours on our prints are surprisingly vibrant and we have received a huge amount of praise for the quality of the prints. It took us nearly a year to find the printer we wanted to work with and we are incredibly proud of the results.
What are ‘A’ paper sizes?
The A series of paper sizes is an international standard, used widely in the UK, Europe and many other countries internationally.
You can find more information about this on our print sizes page.
Can I order a custom print size?
Yes we are happy to accommodate different dimensions to the standard sizes offered. Please get in touch to let us know your request and we can provide a quote. Any custom sizes will be added to our monthly print order from our supplier and so delivery times for custom orders will be longer than our usual service.
Can I order a custom design?
At quieter times we can accommodate requests for custom design work, past examples include changing the colour of the surfer’s hair or surfboard. Larger projects such as depicting a friend’s surf van and also replicating a client’s photo of their favourite beach at sunset in our style have also been undertaken. If you have a design in mind and some reference photos please get in touch. We will quote based on the standard price of the print size you want plus £15 an hour for the design time.
Can you trim down the white border?
Yes where some customers have needed a small amount trimmed off the white border we have been happy to do this. Just contact us before you order to double check this is possible for the design and size you would like. If not possible we can advise on ordering in a custom size print.
Stock Levels
What should I do if the print I want is out of stock?
We usually re-stock our prints once per month. If the print you want to buy is not in stock in the size you want, please contact us and we can advise you when it will be back in stock.
How do I order an A1 or A0 size?
Please contact us with your location so we can give you a quote for the print and postage costs. When packaged the prints are larger than a standard parcel size and so incur increased postage costs, especially when posting outside of the UK. Once the price is confirmed we will send you a link to purchase the print through.
